Ariana Grande and her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater have officially called it quits after nearly three years together.
A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple parted ways amicably after giving the decision “lots of time and careful consideration,” revealing that they have actually been quietly broken up for several months.
The pair first sparked romance rumors back in July 2023 after meeting on the set of the film adaptation of Wicked, where Grande starred as Glinda and Slater played Boq, before eventually making their relationship Instagram official in November 2024.
Despite the split, the insider notes that they remain close friends and are highly supportive of one another. According to the source, Grande is “doing great” and keeping her focus entirely on her massive career milestones.
The 32-year-old pop star just launched her highly anticipated Eternal Sunshine world tour on June 6 and is currently gearing up for the July 31 release of her eighth studio album, Petal.
While the romance that blossomed in Oz has reached its final curtain call, the former couple’s professional chapters remain intertwined following their extensive promotional runs together for both Wicked and its follow-up, Wicked: For Good.
