Get ready to return to the halls of McKinley High! Glee is officially coming back for a new season, more than a decade after the hit musical series ended its original run.

The beloved show is returning on Disney+ and Hulu, with the announcement arriving amid former cast member Harry Shum Jr.’s success on Dancing With the Stars.

Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, Glee originally aired on Fox from 2009 to 2015, running for six seasons and becoming a major pop culture phenomenon. The series followed the students and faculty of William McKinley High School as they navigated friendships, relationships and competitions through their love of music.

What We Know About the ‘Glee’ Revival

Ryan Murphy previously revealed that he had completed a script for the revival alongside fellow co-creators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

He also shared that he had reached out to around 10 original cast members about potentially returning to the series, with those conversations reportedly generating enthusiasm.

However, no original cast members have officially been confirmed for the new season just yet. Interestingly, Glee star Chris Colfer recently said that he was unaware of the revival, leaving fans wondering which familiar faces might eventually return to the fictional Ohio high school.

Will the Original Cast Return?

Fans will undoubtedly be hoping to see some of their favorite characters back on screen, including Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry, Jane Lynch’s Sue Sylvester and Harry Shum Jr.’s Mike Chang.

For now, the show’s creators and streaming platforms have not revealed details about the new season’s storyline or which characters will be featured.

There is also no official premiere date, so viewers will have to wait for more updates before they can start counting down to the show’s return. With Glee finding a new generation of fans through streaming, the revival could bring another wave of musical performances, drama and nostalgia.
