Iggy Azalea may be making her way back to music.

The rapper, who has largely kept a low profile and lived privately in recent years, took to social media with a lengthy seasonal update revealing that she has started recording music again.

“Secondly, I am back recording music,” Iggy wrote, jokingly questioning whether returning to the studio was a good idea. “Is that a bad idea? Maybe. Probably. Definitely.”

The “Fancy” hitmaker explained that, despite enjoying her life away from the spotlight, she has continued to have complicated feelings about stepping away from music.

She admitted that fans frequently ask when she will make music again whenever she posts online, saying that while she appreciates the support, she sometimes deletes those comments because part of her has wanted to move beyond the hurt she associates with the music industry.

However, after “months (maybe years)” of reflection, Iggy said she realized that running away from things isn’t in her nature — including potentially running away from herself.

“So recently I decided just to be sure I haven’t been running away from MYSELF too, I’d better record,” she shared. “And guess what? I drove home really fucking happy that day.”

The rapper made it clear that her return is still in its early stages, describing it as “baby steps.”

“Baby steps my darlings but I fear I may be coming…” she teased.

It sounds like Iggy Azalea isn’t quite ready to announce a full-fledged comeback just yet, but she may have officially returned to the recording studio — and that could be the first sign of new music on the way.
