Jhené Aiko is officially making her long-awaited return!
The R&B songstress has announced that her highly anticipated fourth studio album, ‘Westside Whimsy,’ will arrive this Friday, September 11.
Aiko revealed the news on social media Tuesday, sharing the album’s title and cover art with fans. “Westside Whimsy (THE ALBUM) out Friday,” she wrote alongside the announcement.
The upcoming project marks Aiko’s first full-length studio album in six years, following her Grammy-nominated 2020 album ‘Chilombo.’ That project debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and earned a nomination for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards.
While Aiko has kept most details surrounding ‘Westside Whimsy’ under wraps, the announcement has already sent fans into a frenzy. The album’s official tracklist and featured artists have yet to be revealed.
Aiko previously teased the creative direction behind the new era, pointing to ’90s music and California’s West Coast culture as major inspirations, including car culture, surfing, beaches and the laid-back energy of her home state.
After six years away from releasing a full studio album, Jhené Aiko is finally ready to give fans a new soundtrack.
